Welcome to the Kapok Hotel, where your comfort and safety are our top priorities. As you start your stay with us, we ask that you familiarize yourself with our hotel policies, designed to ensure an enjoyable experience for all our guests. We aim to create an environment where everyone can relax and unwind. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation in observing our policies and thank you for choosing the Kapok Hotel for your accommodation needs.

ROOM POLICY

Our rooms are for accommodation service.  Everyone staying in a room must be registered at reception.  Unregistered visitors are not permitted to enter guests’ rooms or other areas of the hotel.  An additional fee for unregistered guests (US$37.00) will be charged to the account of the guest(s) registered to the room.  This is subject to the room capacity.

  • Check-in is at 3:00pm.  A charge of US$49.00 is applicable for early arrival from 8:00am (based on availability).

  • Check-out is at 12:00noon.  A complimentary late check-out up to 2:00pm (based on availability) can be requested. Late check-outs up to 6:00pm would incur a charge of US$49.00 (based on availability).

  • Check-in before 6:00am is a full night stay charge.

  • Check-out after 6:00pm is a full night stay charge.

  • The minimum age to reserve a room is 18 years.

  • A child is considered up to the age of 12 and from age 13 is considered an adult for occupancy.

  • Pets are not allowed.

  • Rollaway beds are complimentary, based on availability.

  • Cribs are complimentary, based on availability.

  • Rooms are all Smoke Free and a charge of US$250.00 will apply for each instance of smoking in the room.

  • Our guests are entirely responsible for their belongings. Kapok Hotel does not accept any responsibility should a guest’s belongings be lost or stolen.  Please keep your valuables in the safes provided in your rooms.

ADA Compliant Rooms

  • The room comes equipped with a roll-in shower for easy access.

  • The room has an open shelf concept for clothing.

  • Grab Bars are located in the toilet and shower for safety and convenience.

INCIDENTAL CHARGES

  • A Credit Card is required at check-in.

DO NOT DISTURB POLICY

It is Kapok’s practice to enter any occupied guest room at a minimum of once within a 48-hour period. Every effort will be made to provide advance notice to the registered guest before entering an occupied guest room.

 

BANNED ITEMS

Narcotics, firearms, and any other weapons are not allowed on property. 

SMOKING POLICY

The Tobacco Control Act of Trinidad and Tobago (2009) prohibits the smoking of cigarettes, marijuana, and e-cigarettes in all indoor public spaces, indoor workplaces, and public transport.  Kapok Hotel therefore is a SMOKE-FREE hotel. A US$200 room recovery fee will be charged for smoking in guest rooms.   Designated smoking areas (cigarettes & e-cigarettes only) include Bois Cano Terrace and KAVA patio.

  

SAFES / LOST AND FOUND / PERSONAL EFFECTS

Each guest room is equipped with an in-room safe to securely store valuable items. Please note that while we strive to provide a secure environment, the hotel cannot be held liable for any theft, loss, damage, or destruction of property unless gross negligence on the part of the hotel or its staff is evident. In the event of leaving items behind, we will endeavour to retrieve and retain them for up to 30 days. However, unclaimed items beyond this period will either become property of the hotel or be appropriately disposed of.
